Managing field labels

Data display in the LogixCRM is highly configurable and customizable. Administrators can create data fields, design and assign different page layouts for each department / group, and edit field columns for data search and filtering in terms of leads, accounts, and opportunities.
To cater to the management of different types of your clients, approaches to knowing clients must be well designed and defined by means of creating data fields for your leads, accounts, and opportunities. Apply the data fields to help you build various page layouts and assign the pages to your users by department / group.
Data fields, i.e., field labels in the LogixCRM, are divided into default and customized ones. Default fields are created in the LogixCRM as you subscribe to it and are not able to be deleted while customized fields are delible. You can add new field labels as customized ones which will be editable and delible.
Pages of setting up field labels for leads, accounts, or opportunities are distinguishable by colors – green for leads, blue for accounts, and purple for opportunities – identical with the colors shown in the Dashboard.
The configurable items in the field pages of leads, accounts, and opportunities are mostly identical except for the customized fields and the theme colors. Follow the steps below to handle the default field labels.
1. Click Setup in the top right corner to bring up the navigation pane on the left.
2. Click Leads / Accounts / Opportunities on the left pane to expand related items. The example below is the field page for leads, and its theme color is green.
3. Click Fields on the left pane and the field page comes up on the right. Names of the default field labels and their Data Type are not editable.
a. You can click Edit on the View page to edit optional items (without red asterisks). Items of the View page may include:
• Field Label
This shows the default name for the field label and cannot be modified for default field labels.
• Field API
This is generated automatically by the LogixCRM and not editable for the default field labels. It is unique for each field label and functions as a communication bridge between the LogixCRM and your website.
• Length
The maximum input value length allowed for the field label can include up to 255 characters. This cannot be modified for default field labels.
• Help Text
• Description
This text box allows you to give a description pertaining to the field label, for your users’ information only. Your clients won’t be able to see it. This is an optional item.
• Required Value
If the field label is required to fill in for a lead / account / opportunity, a tick icon will appear; otherwise, it will be blank. The status of the Required Value is not reversable or changeable for the default field labels.
b. If you would like to confine some departments’ access to this field label, click Restriction to bring up the organization chart and tick the desired department or group to disable them from seeing the field label. For example, the field label “First Name” is restricted for the Global Team per the screenshot below.
The field label “First Name” is not visible in Yana Tyler’s Leads page, who is a member of the Global Team.
5. After you configure details of the default field labels in the View page, click Edit on the Leads Fields page. You can map the field labels from the field page of leads to that of accounts or opportunities by clicking a row under the column Map To Accounts or Map To Opportunities, and ticking the items on the right pane to add to the field labels.
6. Click Save after you add desired items to the field labels.
The field pages for accounts / opportunities are as below, and their theme colors are blue / purple. The columns pertaining to the Map function are different among leads, accounts, and opportunities. The creation and mapping of field labels are handled in the LogixCRM as below.
(2) Field labels can be mapped from leads to accounts and/or opportunities; they can also be firstly mapped from leads to accounts, and then mapped from accounts to opportunities.
Follow the steps below to create and define your own field labels.
1. Click Setup in the top right corner to bring up the navigation pane on the left.
2. Click Leads / Accounts / Opportunities on the left pane to expand related items. The example below is the field page for leads, and its theme color is green.
3. Click Fields on the left pane and click Add Field on the right to create a customized field label.
4. Choose a data type for the new field label.
a. Packlist: Allows the new field label to be picked in the provided value.
• Field Label
Enter a desired name for the new field label.
• Field API
This will be generated automatically and not editable. It is unique for each field label and functions as a communication bridge between the LogixCRM and your website.
• Help Text
• Description
This text box allows you to give a description pertaining to the field label, for your users’ information only. Your clients won’t be able to see it. This is an optional item.
• Always require value in order to save
• Packlist Values
• Adding field to particular page layout
You can add this new field label as selectable for page layouts. Tick desired a page layout or multiple ones to add the new field label to those page layouts, and then click Save in the bottom right corner.
b. Text: The data type of a new field label shall be written in text.
• Field Label
Enter a desired name for the new field label.
• Field API
This will be generated automatically and not editable. It is unique for each field label and functions as a communication bridge between the LogixCRM and your website.
• Length
The maximum input value length allowed for the field label can include up to 255 characters. Click the up or down arrows for an increment or a decrement of 1 at a time.
• Help Text
• Description
This text box allows you to give a description pertaining to the field label, for your users’ information only. Your clients won’t be able to see it. This is an optional item.
• Always require value in order to save
If ticked, this new field label shall be a required item to fill in for a lead / account / opportunity. If not ticked, the new field label shall be regarded as an optional item and is not necessary to fill in the lead / account / opportunity page.
• Adding field to particular page layout
You can add this new field label as selectable for page layouts. Tick desired a page layout or multiple ones to add the new field label to those page layouts, and then click Save in the bottom right corner.
c. Email: The data type of a new field label will automatically detect whether the content is written in the format of an email or not.
• Field Label
Enter a desired name for the new field label, like Email or Client Email.
• Field API
This will be generated automatically and not editable. It is unique for each field label and functions as a communication bridge between the LogixCRM and your website.
• Help Text
• Description
This text box allows you to give a description pertaining to the field label, for your users’ information only. Your clients won’t be able to see it. This is an optional item.
• Always require value in order to save
If ticked, this new field label shall be a required item to fill in for a lead / account / opportunity. If not ticked, the new field label shall be regarded as an optional item and is not necessary to fill in the lead / account / opportunity page.
• Adding field to particular page layout
You can add this new field label as selectable for page layouts. Tick desired a page layout or multiple ones to add the new field label to those page layouts, and then click Save in the bottom right corner.
d. Date/Time: The new field label is subject to the time zone and the country where the lead / account / opportunity is. Time is based on a 24-hour system.

f. Number: The data type allows a new field label of numbers, such as a field label for client’s age, amount of deposit or withdrawal.
• Field Label
Enter a desired name for the field label.
• Field API
This will be generated automatically and not editable. It is unique for each field label and functions as a communication bridge between the LogixCRM and your website.
• Length
The maximum input value length allowed for the field label can include up to 100 characters. Click the up or down arrows for an increment or a decrement of 1 at a time.
• Decimal Places
Defines the decimal place of the new field label. Click the up or down arrows for an increment or a decrement of 1 at a time for one / two /… decimal place.
• Help Text
• Description
This text box allows you to give a description pertaining to the field label, for your users’ information only. Your clients won’t be able to see it. This is an optional item.
• Always require value in order to save
If ticked, this new field label shall be a required item to fill in for a lead / account / opportunity. If not ticked, the new field label shall be regarded as an optional item and is not necessary to fill in the lead / account / opportunity page.
• Adding field to particular page layout
You can add this new field label as selectable for page layouts. Tick desired a page layout or multiple ones to add the new field label to those page layouts, and then click Save in the bottom right corner.
g. Long Text: The data type allows you to enter a long description without character number limit.

This text box allows you to give a description pertaining to the field label, for your users’ information only. Your clients won’t be able to see it. This is an optional item.

If ticked, this new field label shall be a required item to fill in for a lead / account / opportunity. If not ticked, the new field label shall be regarded as an optional item and is not necessary to fill in the lead / account / opportunity page.
• Adding field to particular page layout
You can add this new field label as selectable for page layouts. Tick desired a page layout or multiple ones to add the new field label to those page layouts, and then click Save in the bottom right corner.
5. Click Save in the bottom right corner to save the new field label you just create. The new field label will appear in the section of customized fields. In necessary, you can click Previous at any time to go back to the selection page.
You can click Edit on the View page to modify editable items, such as the name of the field label, help text, description. Items such as the name of the field API, length, decimal places, and required value are not editable.
Take the customized field label “Affiliate ID”, for example. Its particulars are as below.
The Field API and length go grayscale and are locked from editing.
Besides leads, you can do likewise to create new field labels for accounts and opportunities.
4. Click the eye icon to view the details of the field label, and the following screen shows.

Ensure that the new field label is a must and required to fill in for a new lead / account / opportunity. The status is not reversable or editable after you tick it. If ticked, this new field label shall be a required item to fill in for each lead / account / opportunity, and it will be added to all the page layouts. (Click to enlarge it.) When you view the created field label, a tick icon will appear as follows; otherwise, it’ll be blank. (Click to enlarge it.) If not ticked, the new field label shall be regarded as an optional item and is not necessary to fill in on the lead / account / opportunity page.
Click on the area Add New Value to enter a value, and then click the save icon . For example, there are two industry values added in the screenshot below. If you’d like to display a default value for the new field label, tick the checkbox of a value. The default value shall be only one value. To delete a saved value, click the rubbish bin icon of a value.

6. Click the eye icon to view the details of the field label you just create.
